Sisters of St. Francis

The Sisters of St. Francis came to Maryville in 1894 with the purpose of establishing a healthcare institution that serves the people of rural America. Their institution would have a near 100 year history in the town and county, formally ending when they left the Convent at Mt. Alverno in 1987, rejoining their parent order in St. Louis.
