Nodaway County has a rich history of patriotism that can be traced back to the War of 1812. This site focuses on just a few of those family, friends, and neighbors who served in the military during their lifetime. Most of the veterans found under the link to "Local Heroes" have items on display at the Nodaway County Historical Society Museum, located in Maryville, Missouri.
The people highlighted on this site do not include all of the men and women from Nodaway County who served.
