Roxie "R.C." Wilson
Roxie C. Wilson, known as R.C. to family, was born in Colby, Kansas, on March 20, 1893. His family moved to Guilford in Nodaway County, where he graduated from high school. He attended Northwest Missouri State University (called the Normal School at the time). Roxie was inducted into the Army at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri December 15, 1917 at the age of twenty-four. He served with the 325th infantry regiment until he was discharged.
After the war, he married Beulah Richards on March 26, 1921. They later settled down in Skidmore, Missouri, where Roxie worked as a banker for fifty-nine years. He passed away at 95 and is buried at Miriam Cemetery in Maryville.
