Alvin Robison

Alvin Robison of Barnard served in the first World War at the age of twenty-eight. He was inducted into the Army in Maryville on September 19, 1917. Robinson was a member of Company B 355th Infantry 89th division until his discharge in 1919.

Deployed on June 4, 1918, Alvin took part in the St. Mihiel Offensive as well as the Meuse-Argonne Offensive. While deployed, he often wrote letters home to his family describing his experience overseas. He experienced the enemy’s use of gas first hand, suffering from the effects of being gassed while in Europe.
