War Support Success

V-Home Banner

Nodaway County did so well at holding the front and supporting WWII that they were commended for their acts. In July of 1943 the
V-Home banner by the Missouri Council of Defense was given to the county. This award indicated that at least sixty percent of homes in the county were contributing to war effort activities. Nodaway was one of three counties in the state named by both state and national defense officials for praiseworthy service. The awards and praise showed the Nodaway County was impactful in WWII for war efforts.
