Operation Iraqi Freedom
The Iraqi National Flag
This flag was secured by the men in Brig. Gen. Mark Corson's unit in the 450th Movement Control Battalion upon their taking of the Ali Air Base. They presented it as a gift to Brig. Gen. Corson.
Corson later donated the flag to the museum after seeing the other objects on display and being inspired by their presence. His goal with this donation is to pass on the knowledge of what had happened in Iraq so future generations would know about it and learn from it.
The actual flag can be seen on display at the NCHS museum.
