These are both Shin-Gunto (new military) blades, though the museum's blade (on the left) is an end of war variant. As a result of this, the hilt was made with wood as opposed to copper or aluminium. This means the blade is of a lesser quality than a regular Shin-Gunto blade and only holds value as a historical artifact.
