Staff Sergeant Walter Nicholson

Born June 6, 1924, just six miles east of Burlington Junction, Missouri, Walter Nicholson spent much of his life on the farm where he was born. Until he joined the Army, Nicholson collected scrap metal for the war effort. Drafted at age 19, he spent WWII as a radioman and saw combat from southern France all the way to Berlin.

The items holds many objects captured by Nicholson while in Berlin. His goal was to preserve the history that he and his fellow soldiers endured in the war.
